UPDATE: I’ve moved to San Pedro Sula, Honduras for work and my cooking, photography and writing has taken a bit of a turn, but I’m still here, although with a bit more varied food, recipes and life experiences to share with you. I hope you’ll continue to follow me as I live this journey through this Central American adventure.
My name is Fran and I want to welcome you to ThinRecipes; the place to find healthy recipes that not only taste and look good, but that are satisfying and fun to put together. I decided to launch ThinRecipes to share the food and information that are helping me on my own weight loss journey. I’ve been writing about food for over 3.5 years at FRANtasticFood and after a combination of embarrassing and frustrating “triggers” my brain finally said — STOP with all the Fat, Sugar and excessive portion sizes and get yourself on the right track.
There were weeks I found myself going through hundreds of dollars of food which included a pound of butter and mysterious volumes of Olive and Canola Oils while “waiting for a trigger to present itself.” Well, that time came and I’m happy to say that my head is in the right place and my recipes have changed — but not to worry, the creativity and spunk is still there.
I look forward to hearing from you soon and if you’re on a weight loss journey and care to share, we’ll all celebrate with you as you make your way down the path to a healthy new you.

One day I’ll figure out how to get the Google+ button up there, but for now I’ll just wonder — just like I’ll wonder how I got my curls to behave so well the day I took this shot. These things are both frustrating mysteries. If you have answers, I’m all ears.
